Blacksmith simulator. The Dungeon Vendor

A crafting game about creating increasingly powerful weapons that heroes use to clear dungeons.

The game is announced for the Windows platform.

What to do for a goblin and an old man in a fantasy world? Craft guns for local heroes, of course.

The gameplay is a blacksmith simulator with puzzling forging.

We are immediately thrown into the pool of victory.

Heroes come to the forge and indicate the budget that needs to be met to create weapons.

Any gun consists of a minimum of two, maximum of four ingredients. There are many types of weapons, but, as far as I understand, this does not play a special role. Perhaps there will be some special orders next.

When creating, it is imperative to lay down an ingot of metal and a piece of leather. If you need a richer weapon and, accordingly, more powerful, then add a magic stone and a monster rune.

And here we have room for creativity. You can use cheap components, then process them well, and then the fighter’s chances of success will increase.

Or you can take https://slotsshine.uk/ ingredients of a higher quality and this will provide a margin of safety that allows for relatively unsuccessful forging.

The crafting process involves finding pairs of identical pictures on a randomly filled field. If we open the pictures well, they will let you “hit” the blank (a moving slider, you need to click at the right moment), if we hit it successfully, then the properties of the gun will improve.

The number of attempts is quite limited, so you will need a good memory and luck; it will not be so easy to make the perfect item.

All these cunning manipulations have a practical purpose, it is desirable that the hero-buyer completes his quest, defeats the enemy in the dungeon (the fight is completely automatic). The probability of a successful outcome of the campaign is shown to us in a certain window. The overall chance of success depends on both the quality of materials and forging.

If the passage of the dungeon turns out to be successful, then they will throw coins at us, but, more importantly, materials, sometimes more expensive than spent. In fact, it was done in a strange way, I don’t understand why the soldiers, having already bought weapons, owe our blacksmiths something additional. But, we must admit that without this the office would quickly go bankrupt, and it would not be able to craft weapons of higher quality.

An additional and main incentive to create good weapons is that if two hero-fighters lose their campaigns in a row, then we will be called fig blacksmiths and the game will end. You’ll have to start over from scratch.

The game is divided into something like moves. One craft, one trip to the dungeon and at the end of this cycle a merchant comes with ingredients for sale. The prices are very steep and, as I said above, if blacksmiths only received money for weapons, then there would be nothing to buy.

There is a world map. The forge moves along it every three turns. The further we move, the better quality weapons we need and the more difficult dungeons we need.

Let’s look at the pros and cons of the game and summarize.

+ Simple but nice graphics.

+ The only soundtrack tune, but a good one.

+ Interesting economic model, ongoing resource management.

+ Interesting forging process.

THINGS THAT CAN BE BOTH A PLUS AND A MINUS:

± If you lose, you have to start from the very beginning. In my opinion it’s bleak. But some people may like it, this is the norm in many games.

– No obvious ones detected.

CONCLUSIONS ARE SUBJECTIVE

A small game on the relatively well-known topic of weapon crafting. I liked the local economy, the balance between the quality of materials and the art of crafting. Well made simple but interesting production system where you will need memory and luck.

PS: I probably didn’t cover all the aspects, I might have missed something. I will be glad to add/correct the review or answer questions along the way in the comments.
